Samsung Odyssey G9, samsung odyssey, BabaStatus,

Samsung Odyssey G9 Monitor guys will here so if you're a Gaming Monitor posts from people asking if triple screens are a better option than an ultra wide display so if you scroll past those first 10 comments or so of people just abusing you for not buying a VR headset there's actually some pretty compelling arguments from both sides of the camps so it's no surprise really then that the gaming and simracing community is almost instantaneously lit up with hype the moment.

Samsung Announced G7, G9

Samsung announced their upcoming Odyssey g7 and g9 gaming monitors so in today's this post we're gonna take a look at some of the reasons why these new monitors it may well be the perfect solution we've all been waiting for when it comes to gaming and simracing and why they may even compel me to make the switch from my triple 35 inc screens.

Odyssey G9 Curved Rate

That I'm using at the moment so the first thing that we need to understand here is that as of the time of making this video at least curved ultra white panels generally have a radius designation of 1800 R meaning that the curve is optimized for a viewing distance of 1.8 meters but in most gaming and simracing scenarios in particular we're sitting at a distance of closer to about one meter and this means that as we look to the sides we're inherently looking further away which in turn provides us with a distorted perspective and reduces the immersion so on a triple monitor setup with the side screens set to an angle of about 45 degrees the same viewing distance will be maintained regardless of where you're looking on the screen so for example provided that your field of view is set correctly your side mirrors.

Samsung Odyssey G9 specification

The Samsung Odyssey G9 game's curved gameplay comes in at 49 inches and has Dual Quad High-Definition (DQHD 5,120x1,440 pixels) resolution and 32: 9 ratio. With its 1000R curvature, Samsung claims that the Odyssey G9 offers deep experience and immersion. Comes with a VA panel boasting a refresh rate of 240Hz and a response time of 1ms GT (Gray to Gray). The Odyssey G9 has HDR10 + certification and support for Nvidia G-Sync. It has a maximum brightness of 1000 kits and an average size of 2500 variants: 1. The monitor provides 88 percent coverage of NTSC colors, 125 percent of SRGB loans, and 92 percent of Adobe RGB calculations.

Samsung Odyssey G9 price in India

Price for Samsung Odyssey G9
Samsung has not priced the Samsung Odyssey G9 from now on. However, Samsung said that game monitoring would go on sale globally this month itself, meaning prices should be revealed in the coming days. Notably, there are no details on when and when the Odyssey G9 will arrive in India.

49 inch ultra wide monitors

Would be positioned at the side of you exactly as they are in a real car and while this can be compensated for it to some extent with adjustments to the field of view and projection correction the result is a less immersive overall experience so of course there are some advantages to single large panels over multiple panels such as ease of setup eliminating the bezels you know those kinds of things but for most hardcore gamers and some racers in particular the pros of a triple monitor setup at least in my opinion tend to outweigh the cons and which is why I typically recommend a trip on one of the setup whenever somebody asks this question to put it simply until now giant 49 inch ultra wide monitors have always seemed to include some sort of a compromise so whether it's a lack of resolution particularly vertical resolution which to be honest is actually the only reason why I haven't actually purchased one for my video editing machine a lower refresh rates a higher response times although in 2019 we did see some pretty significant improvements on that front as well or not just having enough curve to provide the same level of immersion as we get with a triple monitor setup.

New Samsung Odyssey monitors

New Samsung Odyssey monitors exciting and why are they any different so firstly they offer a far more aggressive curvature radius from the typical 1800R that we're all used to all the way down to 1000 RS so this means that they're optimized for viewing at a distance of just one meter which is pretty much exactly where the majority of us have our monitors positioned for gaming as well as simracing so this means that for the very first time the monitor will genuinely wrap around the user all the way into their peripheral vision whilst maintaining the same viewing distance throughout the entire radius this is a huge deal as it means for the first time I a believe the same or close to the same level of immersion as we were previously able to have with triple screens but without the annoying bezels the multiple display cables you know having to deal with buggy surround software or dealing with things like bezel correction so in my case I'm currently using 335 inch ultra wide monitors with a total combined resolution of 10 320 by 1440 and while the Samsung g9 will reduce the horizontal resolution to a little over half that at 50 120 by 1440 frankly the triple 35s are a little bit wider than they actually really need to be and a quick sit in my rig confirms that the g9 in theory should just about fill my peripheral vision without the PC needing to drive all those extra pixels and I'm not really paying attention to most of the time anyway and aren't really adding any extra level of immersion so cutting the resolution down by almost half will result in a far greater framerate which brings us to some of the other specs of this new monitor so the g9 boasts a response time of one millisecond and while the response time definitely should not be confused with the input lag we've talked about that in previous videos it's still about as good as it gets by today's standards and I'm sure that given these others are specifically targeted at the gaming and simracing community overall the input lag should be the lowest on the market so next on the spec sheet we have a refresh rate of 240 Hertz and while honestly this probably exceeds our brains ability to actually interpret Ramos's well make sure we're taking full advantage of all those extra frames that are saved by not driving those big triple screens so they're also Nvidia g-sync as well as adaptive sync compatible via the DisplayPort 1.4 protocol so even if you can't reach 240 frames per second you should still have a great experience with no screen tearing or anything like that so of course another thing that is vitally important for gaming and of course simracing as well is image quality and these monitors at least on paper look like they're definitely going to be delivering the goods so they're going to feature a cue LED panel which whilst not quite the same level as an OLED panel where each individual pixel emits its own light for incredible color and contrast quantum dot technology has been around for quite some time now in the TV industry at least and essentially uses quantum confinement to convert the LED backlight into pure red green and blue primary colors with minimal backlight bleeding and crosstalk now I have to admit that despite my ridiculously over-the-top gaming PC I'm generally not a big fan of over-the-top designs when it comes to monitors much prefer a sort of more minimalistic look but the Infinity core as that W none of these does actually look pretty darn cool it actually resembles a star chip out of Star Trek at least to my eye and they're offering 52 different colors as well as five different lighting effects so it's definitely going to be interesting to see how that ends up looking once we see a little bit more information another point to note there just quickly while we're talking about the back of the monitors as well is there hasn't been any mention of a vaison mounting solution just yet but I'm sure that's something that we'll see more information about pretty soon so for those that do still want to run triple monitors as well there were two other models as well that were announced at CES the g7 32 inch and 27 inch models as well and those are both also going to have that 1000 hour radius as well so they should be absolutely perfect for running trip on one of those as I mentioned in some of my videos previously the 1800 arm monitors.

That I'm running at the moment you really don't really benefit anything from using curved over flat panels so yeah it's definitely going to be really interesting to see how those go in a triple screen solution so anyway I just want to give you guys a really quick rundown on these new Samsung ultra wide gaming monitors and why I'm personally really excited about them I'll be doing my best to get my hands on one as soon as possible to review for you guys so if you would like to see that happen please give this video a big thumbs up and if you're not already subscribed please make sure you do so so you don't miss any future videos and yeah that's about it for today guys I just wanted to share that little bit of news with you so thank you very much for watching and I'll see you guys again soon bye
